Welcome to HealthInsurance4You.us

We make finding and purchasing health insurance simple.

HealthInsurance4You.us is your complete online portal for finding Health Insurance and Supplemental Health Insurance coverage. We have helped thousands of consumers compare health insurance quotes and purchase individual coverage online. Feel free to shop yourself or contact us for assistance in selecting the appropriate benefits for your specific needs.

We designed this portal so you are able to find the right health plan for your specific needs. Price alone is not the main factor when looking for Health Insurance, your plan should balance both your health and budget needs. You’ll want to make sure the plan you purchase covers you for the services you require as well as provides drug coverage for the prescriptions you need now or may need in the future. It should also allow you to have access to the doctors that you want to go to. Younger active families may require different benefits than older, less active individuals.

Confused about Health Insurance?

We offer our clients comprehensive information on how the various health coverages work. Have questions about how a health plan works? Want to see what types of plans are available? The Insurance Marketplace is now Open!

As of January 1st, 2014 all credible health plans sold on or off the health care exchanges now offer the same essential health benefits, as mandated by the Affordable Care Act. They also use the same cost-sharing measurements (actuarial value (AV), which is the percentage of health care expenses a plan would cover on average for a standard population) for all standardized plan tiers. These tiers will be broken down into 4 'metal" levels: bronze (AV of 60%), silver (AV of 70%), gold (AV of 80%), and platinum (AV of 90%). In addition to the tier level plans, young adults under 30 years old will have the option to purchase catastrophic coverage.

If your Modified Adjusted Gross Income is less than 400% of Federal Poverty Level (FPL), then you may want to purchase Health Insurance from an exchange through a licensed insurance broker because you will get subsidies (technically “advanced premium tax credits”) that can help lower premiums and make your costs more affordable. However, if you make more than 400% of FPL or expect more income than originally anticipated to show up once you complete your tax returns, you may elect to avoid the exchanges and purchase coverage directly from the carrier so you won't have to pay the government back at end of year. That's right! You could be required to return a portion or all of the subsidy if they determine you made more than originally determined. You also may not have access to the subsidy offered through the exchange if you or your spouse’s employer offers group health coverage, even if your income is less than the 400% of FPL. In those cases, you could be better served purchasing directly from the Health Insurance Carriers through a licensed insurance broker.

Beginning 2019, you will no longer have to be enrolled in credible health coverage or pay a fine (individual mandate penalty).

If you make more than 400% of FPL in 2023 then you probably will no longer qualify for government subsidies unless our government acts and extends the subsidies provided through the American Rescue Plan. You would then probably be better served finding insurance coverage off the Health Care Exchanges as there will be more plans, carriers, and possibly better premiums to choose from. Especially, from those carriers who have elected not to take part in the exchanges. Many carriers have decided to take a wait-and-see approach for now and may come up with different pricing strategies than those on the exchanges. Not every health insurance company offers plans through the exchanges.

Short Term Medical Plans

These are similar major medical, except they usually run in 6 month to 12-month increments then need to be renewed. If after that time you are still healthy they will allow you to apply again. If you develop something, they have limited underwriting and offer fast turnaround so you can be insured very quickly. They do not cover pre-existing conditions and in some instances do not cover all preventative care services, so make sure to check plan benefits for details.

Critical Illness & Cancer Plans

Critical Illness insurance can help supplement your Major Medical Insurance by paying you a lump sum, cash payment that you can use to cover medical bills, deductibles, mortgage payments, rent, or anything else you may need the money for if you suffered from a critical illness. Most covered critical illnesses include: Cancer (internal), Heart Attack, Stroke, Coma, and many others. You should review the policy for a full listing of covered illnesses prior to purchase. Most Major Medical plans allow you to add a critical illness rider to your policy, so if also purchasing a new health policy, start by seeing what is available from your medical carrier. Cancer Plans work similar to Critical Illness plans, but usually only cover various forms of cancer. Also, most of these products do not cover non-malignant skin cancers, so be sure to review policy thoroughly for details of exactly what is going to be covered and what is not going to be covered.

Accident Plans

Accident Insurance is a wonderful and very affordable product that is a must-have for young families or those that enjoy active lifestyles. It can help offset the costs of care for covered accidents. It usually pays a fixed amount to you depending on what injury was caused by the accident. That payment can help cover ER, hospital, and/or other treatment costs associated with the accident. Again, most Major Medical plans allow you to add an Accident rider to your policy, so if also purchasing a new health policy, start by seeing what is available from your medical carrier.

Hospital Indemnity Plans / Guaranteed Issue Plans

In most cases, these are very inexpensive and provide you with discounted or network adjusted pricing for services in addition to paying you a set amount for services that you have done under the plans. These plans usually have limited or no underwriting involved, so for those with health issues or those that are healthy these provide an inexpensive alternative to major medical health insurance. Be aware, pre-existing conditions are not always covered in these plans, so check plan benefits for details.
